iration 2015 web Summer Luau

Iration is an alternative/reggae group of musicians formed in Isla Vista, Calif.  A deep-rooted reggae influence is fused with elements of rock and pop to create smooth original sounds – “We’re all about luv”, states the band. The group is made up of members Joseph Dickens (drums), Cayson Peterson (keyboard/synth), Micah Pueschel (guitar/lead vocals), Adam Taylor (bass), and Micah Brown (guitar/vocals). All of the members of Iration met while growing up in Hawaii, but formed the band after reconnecting in Santa Barbara – the exception being Micah Brown, who officially joined the group in 2014.

The group released their Hotting Up album in summer 2015. The album’s lead single “Reelin” debuted at #1 on the iTunes reggae singles chart. Iration has been touring nationally since 2008, performing at national festivals like Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Hangout, and many others. These Hawaiian-bred musicians look forward to spreading their original sound and Aloha spirit all the while never forgetting to get a surf in when possible.

All meaty, beaty, big and bouncy, Irontom set themselves apart from the pack by bringing pop clarity to a blend of ‘70s-inspired rock and twisted electronics. Their debut album Partners (out later this year) is both bombastic and intricately textured and as darkly charged as it is undeniably life-affirming.

Formed in 2012, Irontom are fueled by a potent chemistry that first began with Zach Irons and singer Harry Hayes. After learning drums from his dad (Jack Irons, former drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam), Irons discovered his natural grasp of guitar at age 11, thanks in part to some guidance from confidant John Frusciante.

Within years, Irons began playing with fellow multi-instrumentalists Sandborg and Daniel Saslow, moves that quickly prompted Dylan Williams to take up drumming.

Magic Giant

Inside a Redwood tree off the coast of California; within a tunnel by Snoqualmie Pass; on an airstrip in Marble, Colorado; in a wild daisy field near Crested Butte—these are just a few of the places Los Angeles trio Magic Giant recorded its debut album, aptly titled, In the Wind. Austin Bisnow (lead vocals), Zambricki Li (banjo, violin, harmonica), and Zang (acoustic guitar, cello) welcomed nature into the fold as their unofficial fourth member.

In The Wind threads together a musical cartography of alternative, pop, and folk. The instrumentation includes (get ready…) orchestral drums, banjo, trumpet, saxophone, harmonica, synthesizers, electric bass, cello, viola, violin, dobro, lap steel, mandolin, and more as the musical and lyrical palettes prove equally vibrant.

The three are an unlikely match, but their magnetic chemistry can get any crowd moving, from a sold out show at the legendary Troubadour to a sunset music or yoga festival audience. The group has recently toured with bands such as Beats Antique, The Revivalists, and Mike Posner.
