OBC 2019: Silversun Pickups' Monniger Talks New Album, Touring With Ross

Nikki Monniger discusses famed producer Butch Vig's impact on band's new album

April 15, 2019

It's a great time for Silversun Pickups. The hard-charging band just dropped a new single, is preparing for the release of a new album -- and of course, they're headlining OBC 2019 in Vegas as well!

Just days after the L.A. rockers unveiled their single "It Doesn't Matter Why," Pickups bassist Nikki Monninger talked with Ross Mahoney about the band's ramp-up to a big summer 2019 schedule.

While their appearance at OBC (June 6 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas) is the obvious highlight, Nikki talked about a few of the band's other most anticipated moments in the coming months, including the June 7th release of Silversun Pickups' 5th album Widow's Weeds.

She talked about the impact of having famed producer (Nirvana's "Nevermind") and Garbage band member Butch Vig sheparding the new record as well as how the band picks their singles (spoiler: they don't!).

Nikki and Ross also chat about what she's looking forward to as the band gets set to hit the road in support of the new album.

Listen to Ross' complete interview with Nikki here -- and make sure to pick up tickets to OBC 2019 Night 1 when they go on sale Friday!
